Both architects and developers are paying increasing attention to how the land around a development is utilised. Office space is not merely a room on one of the floors, but constitutes a comprehensively perceived whole, together with the building’s structure and its immediate surroundings. Achieving attractive, prestigious spaces is possible thanks to the use of elegant, robust concrete blocks and slabs from Polbruk, which come in a variety of colours and textures.
The space at the foot of the Neptun office block in Gdańsk is a noteworthy design. Polbruk paving slabs were used in its construction, resulting in surroundings that are harmonious and blend perfectly with the building itself. Smooth, grey slabs (Technika range) brighten up the space on a sunny day, whilst in inclement weather they highlight the glass-fronted building. The entire project is complemented by impressive, elongated flowerbeds with benches, giving the whole a dynamic feel and breaking with the character of a traditional pavement in an unusual way.
An equally interesting effect was achieved in the finishing of the surroundings of the Opera Office Gdańsk office block, where symmetrical washed pavers were used Polbruk Complex. Rectangular grey pavers, with a rough texture on the surface, create a discreet and solid backdrop for the original building, whilst not overwhelming the interesting design lines of the office block’s structure.
The pathways, laid out in an unconventional manner, complement both the modern character of the glass-fronted building and its minimalist colour scheme, further emphasising the originality of the concept.
Polbruk’s concrete pavers and slabs offer a versatile and highly functional way to enhance the aesthetic and practical qualities of any setting. By using them, we create impressive, simple, comfortable and, at the same time, elegant spaces of the highest quality. The surroundings of office buildings and commercial premises arranged in this way serve not only a purely functional purpose, but increasingly also provide space for outdoor exhibitions, displays and meeting places, thereby enhancing the quality of work and life for the city’s residents.
