Time for a review
The end of the year usually prompts everyone to reflect, and this reflection leads to action. Yes, pavers, you need to get moving – in your industry, there’s no time for a break ☺. But before you start making new plans, take stock of what’s already behind you. Grab a sheet of paper and try to answer these key questions:
- Did everything go my way this year?
- Which goals did we achieve, and what did we put off until later?
- What problems did we face?
- Did we achieve our targets?
- What clients did we acquire and how?
- Which orders were the most profitable?
- What have we invested in?
The information you note down will serve as a basis for setting further goals, relating not only to the company’s development but also to its promotion.
Marketing plans
The foundation of planning is a good strategy. You could say that a strategy is like a toolbox – it enables the company to communicate information about its activities to those in its market environment: customers, contractors and partners. The correct use of these tools affects the competitiveness of a paving company. So how do you create a strategy that will be effective? First and foremost, you should rely on your own knowledge and original ideas. Of course, you can ‘take a peek’ at what your competitors are doing, but we strongly advise against simply copying their moves. After all, your goal is to stand out from the competition, isn’t it? So how do you chart the right course?
Step 1
Set your goals. Do you want to let the world know your company exists? That’s great! Make sure potential customers hear about you before they even start planning their investments for next year. Or perhaps you’re keen to secure more orders that will boost your company’s revenue or improve the quality of your work? Remember that the goals you set must be specific, measurable, achievable and, above all, time-bound. Set yourself deadlines – that way, you’ll be more motivated to take action!
Step 2
We choose the tools. There are many: traditional advertising, social media, cross-marketing, events and trade fairs. When deciding on specific marketing tools, take note of the trends forecast for 2022. Firstly: creating visually appealing promotional materials. It is the image that matters most and is the most effective. So think about how to tell your company’s story using images. Think about what form of advertising will catch the attention of your potential customers and build positive associations with your company. Above all, remember to prioritise credibility and aesthetics. Good taste is essential – even in the work of a paver. Focus on new media, which will allow you to reach your audience more quickly.
Step 3
Practical solutions for small businesses. To promote your business effectively, tailor your offers and messages to specific target groups. When offering your services, think about who your customers are, what budgets they have, and what they need. Also check who can help you promote your business. Perhaps it will be a local wholesaler or specialist partners. Cross-promotions allow small businesses to amplify their message!
