Palisades are a
solution increasingly used by owners of properties with problematic terrain: uneven ground. These elements effectively prevent landslides, and an additional benefit is the ability to separate areas of different types (e.g. lawns from rockeries, terraces from gardens, paths from flowerbeds). Another ingenious application is reinforcing the edges of fountains, flowerbeds or borders around trees and shrubs. Palisades also work very well when arranged in the form of steps or tiers creating cascades in ponds. In public and urban areas, palisades are used, for example, to demarcate pedestrian zones, reinforce slopes alongside pavements, or to protect urban flowerbeds.
A wide range of solutions
Palisades are an important part of the Polbruk range. They are elements of small garden architecture, associated with the greening of outdoor spaces. Products such as: Palisade Hestra, Magna, Slim are designed to blend gently into the natural space of green areas, subtly emphasising their beauty. Simple forms, a wide range of colours and textures, and a multitude of applications are features that win over even the most demanding clients.
Tips for the professional
Have you noticed that the site you’re working on is waterlogged and clayey? Remember to install drainage to carry off excess water. If you’re still considering the sub-base, opt for aggregate or gravel. When creating tree borders or low walls separating garden areas with the same soil type, you can choose to drive the palisades directly into the natural ground (to a depth of approx. half the height of the palisade).
By keeping these few simple rules in mind, you can be sure that the projects you undertake using palisades will serve their purpose for many years to come!
