Tip 1: Your company’s fan page is your business card!
Where do people look for professionals these days? On social media! Therefore, you must ensure that your fan page is visible on Facebook! You can make any changes in the ‘About/Edit Page Info’ tab. Use the correct name and fill in the contact details form accurately. Write a few words about what you offer – let customers know exactly what you do and what kind of jobs you take on.
Tip 2: Content – what to post?
Firstly: show the results of your work! Once all the work is complete, with the client’s permission, take photos of the finished project. Take photos from different angles and distances to showcase its qualities as effectively as possible. Post the photos on Facebook, e.g. in an album, and describe them appropriately (e.g. with a list of products used). Secondly: show that behind your company’s success are real, experienced professionals. If your team members agree to have their photos published, post them and show that you have team power!
Tip 3: Content – how often should you post?
Ideally, regularly! We know you’ve got a lot on your plate, but find a moment at least twice a week to remind your fans you’re still here. Oh, and remember – there’s more to life than work! Send your best wishes to the ladies on their special day, send Easter greetings from your team of experts, and show your fans how a paver relaxes on holiday.
Tip 4: Content – when to post?
When searching online for information on the best time to post content on Facebook, you’re bound to come across plenty of valuable advice – unfortunately, much of it contradictory. Some say the best time is in the morning (to capitalise on the ‘freshness’ of the news), others favour the afternoon (when most people have finished work), whilst others suggest the evening. The truth is that post visibility is most influenced by algorithms that analyse your fans’ engagement and decide whether and when your post will be shown to them.
Tip 5: How should you write posts?
Keep it short, concise and to the point. Few people have time to wade through lengthy posts, so focus on 2–3 sentences and try to include all the key information in them. We assure you that this is possible. To highlight the most important points (e.g. a phone number), use emojis (arrows, crosses or others) that will catch your followers’ eye. But remember – everything in moderation
Tip 6: How to reach potential customers?
Simply posting content isn’t enough. To ensure it reaches your potential customers, you need to put some effort into additional activities. Encourage your staff and friends to share the content you publish, and share it yourself in relevant Facebook groups. You can also try running an advert to make your posts more popular. Tip 7: How to contact customers?
Keep in touch! Interested people will get in touch with you via Messenger. Ideally, you should reply to them straight away, but we know you might not have time for that. In the ‘Settings / Messages’ tab on your company’s fan page, set up an automatic reply informing the sender that you thank them for getting in touch and will try to reply as soon as possible. And do just that as soon as you find a spare moment ;)
Tip 8: How to respond to negative comments?
Have you heard of internet trolls? People eager to post unfounded opinions, negative comments, or even slander are just waiting for a moment when you’re not paying attention. That’s why you need to stay alert and check all your notifications. If someone writes something negative about your business, try to ask in a neutral way about the reasons for their dissatisfaction and encourage them to contact you directly. If you can tell straight away that you’re dealing with a troll – don’t react, or politely ask them to stop.
Tip 9: How to increase the number of fans on your company’s fan page?
As well as the paid activities mentioned earlier, you can take a ‘organic’ approach. View the list of people who have liked your post. Next to some of their names, you’ll see an inactive button labelled ‘Liked’. These are people who have already liked your fan page. The remaining group of people appear on the list with an ‘Invite’ button. Click on it. The person you’ve just sent an invitation to will receive a notification encouraging them to like your fan page.
Tip 10: Is it worth using Facebook groups?
Definitely. You can join them as a “fan page”. We suggest focusing on two categories. Firstly, look for groups whose members could be your potential customers. These include, for example, groups bringing together the local community (search for them by the name of the region or town where you operate) or groups for property owners or landscape architecture enthusiasts. Secondly, look for groups for pavers. Share your knowledge and experience within them.
