A sure step – concrete steps

Add to favorites
Stairs leading to the house should be solidly constructed and resistant to changing weather conditions. Durability is essential, but the decorative aspect is no less important. Concrete solutions combine both of these functions.

Solid foundations

The quality of the components used, compliance with the highest production standards and the use of state-of-the-art technology are factors that have a decisive influence on the quality and durability of pavers and street furniture. - The materials used to make the steps can have any shape, texture or edge finish, but in the long term, the most important thing is to consider the technical aspects and who manufactured the product and from what components – says Karol Umiński, quality controller at Polbruk.

A strong foundation

Stairs should not only look good, but also form a stable and safe structure. To ensure they serve us for years to come, we must prepare thoroughly for the work – check the ground before laying the steps and, to avoid having to cut the products to size, accurately assess the height from the ground to the door. We begin by setting the edging elements (e.g. palisades, edging strips) – this is best done on dry or semi-dry concrete – and then proceed to lay the pavers.

Interesting shapes

Thanks to the variety of shapes available on the market, we can successfully create the pattern we want. Some elements allow, for example, the laying of arches and semicircles – for this purpose, we can use, for example, the Ring palisade or the Canto edging Trapez. Creating arrangements in combination with vegetation is also not a problem. For this purpose, all kinds of palisades with a height of approx. 100–120 cm, as well as stair treads and low walls Polbruk Grando, will come in handy.

Final touches

The final essential piece of the puzzle is grouting. The joints between the elements should be filled with well-cleaned washed sand, which will prevent the joints from becoming overgrown. Finally, the surface should be covered with a few layers of sand, swept, and then the whole area should be watered. On small areas, compactors should not be used, as this may damage the pavers.
