It’s finally here! The long-awaited (I don’t know if by you, but certainly by me :D) terrace makeover!
Do you remember the first part of the post? [CLICK!]
I wrote there about the 3D design
that was prepared specifically for our needs. Ultimately, however, it was modified slightly because my husband and I decided we wanted a bit more lawn. After all, the design is for us, not the other way around :)
In the previous post, I showed you the pavers we chose for our patio. Today, I’ll show you how it turned out in the end—the result exceeded my expectations!
Impressive, isn’t it? The “Polbruk” Lira slab
turned out to be a bull’s-eye! It looks as natural as an old plank, yet it has all the advantages of concrete. What are they? Well, first and foremost, it’s super easy to maintain. Actually, a deck like this doesn’t require any special maintenance at all, and that’s its biggest advantage—isn’t that wonderful? ;) All we have to do is regularly sweep up fallen leaves or other debris.
After a year, you can seal the slabs, which will provide additional protection against dirt and grime. It’s not necessary, but it makes maintaining the deck even easier.
What about beyond the patio slabs? The designer decided to create an interesting solution around the patio that further separates it from the outside world—a planter made from Zen
palisades. In the future, the plants in it will form a living wall. Finally, we have our own little corner where coffee tastes exceptional.
Of course, before the terrace was built, I had a few concerns. Do you know what gave me the most mixed feelings? I was afraid the slab would be cold and unpleasant against bare feet. Here’s another surprise: in my opinion, it’s warmer than regular concrete—it’s magic :) The texture mimics wood both visually and to the touch. And the comfort and ease of using it every day are unmatched.
I was also afraid that the work would drag on for days or even weeks. Do you know how long it took? One day :) Actually, even less, because the patio was ready when I got home from work—now that was exciting! I almost didn’t recognize my own backyard :D How do you like it? I’m thrilled!
The efficient work is thanks to a great team—I have to admit, the guys got it done in a flash! They delivered and installed the patio without a hitch, so if you’re in the Słupsk area, I highly recommend reaching out to them. You’ll find the company’s contact info at the end of this post.
