Our activities in support of the Albatros Foundation include funding for the treatment and rehabilitation of birds at the Wild Bird Rehabilitation Centre in Bukwałd. This covers veterinary and nursing care, the purchase of medicines and specialist food, as well as the release and monitoring of birds following treatment. The Wild Bird Rehabilitation Centre in Bukwałd, run by the Albatros Foundation, is one of the largest in Poland. Every year it admits more and more bird patients and forecasts that this trend will, unfortunately, continue. In 2020, over 1,000 birds were admitted to the centre.
The Albatros Foundation implements projects that are innovative on a national scale, such as the Bird Guard, the Bird Academy and Symbiosis. As part of our joint activities, we have taken on the patronage of the Bird Guard. It consists of a group of volunteers who, after specialist training, carry out interventions and provide first aid to injured birds, thereby increasing their chances of survival. With our support, the Foundation has already recruited 10 new volunteers who have joined the ranks of the Bird Guard. The Bird Academy, on the other hand, is a sanctuary for birds that, due to permanent health impairments, cannot return to their natural habitat. It provides shelter for disabled birds, but also serves as the educational arm of the centre. It is here, through contact with nature and educational activities, that children, young people and adults can develop an ecological awareness. Currently, the sanctuary is home to around 100 birds, representing 20 different species.
We are delighted to have the opportunity to be involved in this innovative environmental project. Caring for the environment is a priority. We encourage you to join us in our efforts to protect it.
