Beating Skra Bełchatów 3-1 in the final, ZAKSA Kędzierzyn Koźle were crowned winners of the 2017 Polish Cup. Congratulations!

ZAKSA began their Polish Cup campaign on 4 January with a win over MKS Będzin (3-0), before defeating Effector Kielce (also 3-0) in the quarter-finals. The team from Kędzierzyn-Koźle played their next match on the road to the final in Wrocław, in the Final Four, which also featured Jastrzębski Węgiel, Lotos Trefl Gdańsk and PGE Skra Bełchatów.

It was against the first of these teams that ZAKSA had to face in the semi-finals of the tournament. After a thrilling match, the Kędzierzyn-Koźle players beat Jastrzębski Węgiel 3-1. This meant they would face the winner of the Lotos Trefl Gdańsk v PGE Skra Bełchatów match in the final. Ultimately, the team supported by Polbruk defeated the defending champions, Skra Bełchatów, 3-1 (29-27, 25-27, 25-20, 25-18)!

As expected, the match was full of fierce rallies, fierce battles and twists and turns.

ZAKSA has thus won the Polish Cup for the sixth time – the trophy has returned to Kędzierzyn-Koźle after a three-year hiatus. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for further success!
