Dawid Konarski (spiker), Rafał Buszek (receiver) and Paweł Zatorski (libero), together with their teammates, have secured their place at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, which will soon become the arena for athletes from all over the world.
Within the Polish PlusLiga volleyball champions’ squad itself, a transfer merry-go-round is underway. Benjanim Toniutti and Paweł Zatorski, the captains of ZAKSA, as well as Dawid Konarski and Łukasz Wiśniewski, have extended their contracts with the team. Sam Deroo and Kevin Tillie are definitely staying with the team, and Mateusz Bieniek has already joined the squad; he also plays for the national team and played his part in the qualification for Rio.
We are delighted to be partnering with the best and aiming for even greater goals.
Based in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, ZAKSA is one of the most successful volleyball clubs in Poland. The team won its first Polish Championship in the 97/98 season, and from 1999 onwards, for the next four years, Mostostal remained on the championship throne, both in the league and in the Polish Cup (they won the double three times in a row). These successes were complemented by performances on the international stage. In 2000, the players finished third in the CEV Cup, and in 2003 in the Champions League. In 2011, the club finished second in the CEV Cup, and in 2013 fourth in the Champions League. ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle is the current Polish Champion.
